A couple of days can make a big difference

"I think Israel's response under the circumstances has been measured..."

It is interesting that in almost the same breath as describing the response as "measured", he charters some boats from Cypress to move Canadians out of the region. If it was "measured", why move Canadians out?

There is nothing inconsistent about that. The situation could still escalate even if Israel’s response was a measured. And if it did escalate and Harper hadn't chartered the boats you would be bitching at him for incompetence.

Israel shows a ridiculous level of restraint because of inconsistent world opinion. What kind of measured response would Bush (or any American president for that matter) have if the Canadian government was infiltrated by terrorists bent on the destruction of the United States and Canada started kidnapping American soldiers and firing rockets over the border?
Or how measured do you think the actions of Hezbollah or Hamas would be if they were the ones with the tanks, helicopters and nuclear weapons?

I am no fan of Israel. The creation of a country based on religious isolationism as reparations for genocide is only something brainwashed zealots trying to fulfill biblical prophecy so a happy Jesus would come back to take them into heaven quicker would come up with. But we have to look at which side is more religious and therefore more insane here and it isn’t Israel.
