Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden

An interesting work exploring the lives of two snipers in WWI and one aunt, all Cree. While I didn't enjoy the first 15-20% and certainly reading of the horrors of war can be disheartening, I quite liked this book overall and I'm very happy to have read it. Important to get this angle on an large piece of Canadian history.

Sweet Tooth by Ian McEwan

Unfortunately, I can only say this was a decent work overall. I quite like McEwan's Saturday or Enduring Love but this was a bit disappointing. Using Britain's efforts at the culture war during the cold war is an interesting idea, but I didn't connect enough with the characters or plot to care enough.  Some narrative delight wasn't enough to redeem.

Earth: The Book by The Daily Show

I recently re-read this hilarious irreverent guide to all of Earth, written for aliens that find of our planet after we have managed to kill ourselves.
Brilliant and witty. Give it a perusal.

Dennett by Tadeusz Zawidzki

An truly superb overview of Dennett's body of work and how his systems of thought cohere.

Gulp by Mary Roach

Amusing and informative, as usual, but I wished that there had been more science/facts. I say check out Stiff or Bonk first.
