Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Strikingly original, cinematographically brilliant, and intimate... so very intimate. For those that haven't seen this movie, I suggest you do so.
How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd;
- Alexander Pope (If you'd like the lines in context, they are from a poem called Eloisa to Abelard)

If it was possible, would you do it?

No, I don't think I would. I've yet to have anything that painful. If I was tortured or traumatized, maybe. But as for the procedure, it seems like it might take away more than one would want. Memory is increasing seen as an interconnected web, so it would seem quite problematic to remove parts related to 'someone.' Wonderful idea for a movie though. :)
